·        Watatic Update

o       Keith, Tom, and Walter pushed real hard to complete the paper work for grant money from DCR for Watatitc next year.  Unfortunately we couldn’t get in front of the Ashby Conservation Commission and complete the filing in time.  Good news is we’ll be ready for 2010 and have an appointment with them on Oct 1^st  @ 7:45 pm to submit the paper work  It’s almost complete and attached is a copy.

o       Ernie has GPs’d the trail from Rt31 to Mount Watatic and the club has a copy of this map now.  The only piece of trail we don’t have is the Mid State from rt119 to the trails we walked on the mountain.

o       Discussed a little about the Watatic management committee – and some of the findings from the walk.

·        Festival Planning

o       Festival Date – October 18

o       Starts @ 4:00 for kids – Chili cookoff at 6:00-7:00 – DJ @ 7:00 - Band @ 8:00 (possibly)

o       Sign-up Tonight

§         Still need a headcount for how many children are going to the party so we can buy the right amount of craft supplies (if any)

·        Kid count – nobody at meeting is currently bringing kids

o       Food

§         Everyone should either bring Chili for the cook-off – or bring a dish/food to share.

§         Stared a sign-up sheet for food and snacks

o       Donations

§         Discussion on how to get in – donation

§         10$ to get in – put ticket in bucket – Do for door prize

§         Need to take an inventory on T-Shirts – Should not have to buy any.

·        Looking for help for Jeremy this weekend to build Groomer

·        If anyone can get to Jeremy’s this weekend (Sat morning – 9:00) please get over there to help – free welding lessons.

·        Trail Work (Proposed for weekend 10/4)

o       Cleared the Cowdrey trail last weekend

o       Rt 13 Trail – Out by Mike & Sue’s house

§         Issue with beaver dam / bridge area

o       Meet @ Tom’s @ 8:00

o       Need to do some work out towards Watatic – Ernie is going to check out and see if we can avoid the road-riding down there

o       Need to find passage to the Gas station (Mobile near Ashby Diner) – need to find the way.

o       We may be able to get to the 31 store – this is dependent on 1 land owner – Carl knows him as well – Ernie will talk to him and if we get that, we have full access to gas – we will need to do some trail work to get through there.

o       At the next meeting we should set up time to walk the Burrage crossing.

o       Need to secure Rt 13
