• Party Summary

  • Party was not great as a fund raiser – but everyone who went had fun

  • Estimate we only made about $250 profit

  • Attendance was down – probably because of the bad weather

  • Only 6 out of 30 kids showed up (we had done a head count before, and got commitments from members that 30 kids would be coming)

  • Had about 40 people show up for the event – we were expecting closer to 70

  • Would really like to get more people next year

  • Had ad hoc discussion about other fund raiser ideas

    • Could do poker run as fund raiser as opposed to charity – or perhaps 50/50 (give 50% of the proceeds to charity, and the other towards funding the trails etc.)

  • Had ad hoc discussion about “non-profit” organization and rules about fund raisers.

    • Experience of board members indicated we are OK with our current approach.

  • Anyone with pictures from the event – get them to the Secretary and he will try to get them posted.

  • Spoke with President and we thought it would be a good idea to put together a slide show of the year, and then have that showing on a screen during the event (next year)

  • There was a nice new Club banner at the party – if anyone wants one, they are $100 – for each one we sell – the club keeps $25 (i.e. cost is $75)

  • Jeremy is trying out for the part of Rudolph in the school play – ask him about it some time.

• Trails / Groomer

  • Looking at buying a 1997 Jag 340 – has new studs and new skis

  • Could be a great groomer – seller wants $600, but could probably be had for $500 (or perhaps even less) Secretary will try to get more details

  • Submitted contract for grooming – need to create a log

  • Talked about groomer and extending flap to prevent overheating

  • Reroute by Page street still needs to be covered – President still needs to go speak with Land owner there.

  • Need to schedule a work party to do the bridge behind Mike&Sue's place

    • Secretary will make arrangements with them to move their vehicles out of the way so we have trail access via their driveway

  • Need to do a chainsaw walk through the Cowdry and cut any dead-fall out of the trails

  • Need to put on/off ramps on the bridge in Cowdry

  • Need to fix up wet area before Rt 13 (between power lines and Rt 13)

  • Doing a double day work-party Sat/Sun – Meet @ President's house Saturday 8:30, Meet at Secretary house on Sunday 8:30. Depending on number of people, we may break up into multiple groups.

  • Eric will contact Seth about taking care of trail from his house to main trail

• Incorporation

  • Everyone should read the bylaws distributed by Jeremy by the next meeting

  • Would like to get them finalized and voted on at the next meeting if possible

• Club Trip

  • Need an organizer – nobody is volunteering

  • Can't just book a place and see who shows up – need to put real $$$ down as a deposit

  • People think late Jan is a good time – January 25-27 is a possibility.

  • Members want to go to Maine – Moose head, Jackman, Forks, etc.

  • Walter considering volunteering to be coordinator

  • Alternative date could be Feb 15-17

• Memorial

  • Rock is ready to go

  • Person who was going to engrave it now wants 2x the amount originally quoted

  • Carl will contact another person he knows who may be able to do it for a more reasonable amount

  • Brett will also check an engraver in Acton.

  • Could also look into a Bronze plate instead.

  • TJ will look into the cost of getting a bronze plat (about 16”x24”)

  • Rock is about 4'x4'

  • Raised about $400 so far towards the memorial, so trying to stay close to budget

  • Bring info gathered to next meeting

  • Secretary has not had time to update – Jeremy volunteered to help but needs a copy of the management software for it – Secretary will see if he has a spare boxed copy.
